The Black Dog institute reported that mental illness is the leading cause of sickness and long-term work incapacity in Australia. 1 in 6 workers are currently experiencing mental illness, most commonly depression and anxiety. A further 1 in 6 will be suffering from worry, fatigue and sleep problems, all affecting their ability to function well at work. That means 1 in every 3 workers in each Australian workplace are currently experiencing some kind of mental health challenge.
