Our pep talks

Feel like you have more stress and less time to deal with it? We get it. Our pep talks have been designed specifically for these crazy ‘ol times. We’ve got you and you’ve got this.

That’s why all our pep talks are:

Quick

All our talks are around 3 minutes.

Backed by evidence

Developed with a team of experts and tested by the CSIRO.

Delivered by voices you know & love

You get to choose how you want to hear your support. All talks are offered in at least 3 different voice options so you can find something to suit your needs.

In a fun, pragmatic tone

All our peps are written by straight shootin’, funny, award winning writers without the woo woo.

Situation-specific

Pep talks are based on a range of specific everyday stresses. Feeling bleurgh? Need a gee up for a big meeting? Are the people you live with driving you nuts? We’ve got you.

Topped up monthly

New pep talks are added each month so you can always find something fresh. We are constantly writing and recording new talks to respond to the issues you need support with.

...

Voices you love

Specific situations call for a specific friend. We get it. Sometimes, you need a warm comforting verbal cuddle while other times you might feel like being whipped back into a human shape. That’s why we offer each pep talk in a range of well known Australian voices. You choose the voice companion to suit your mood.

Running a business with your best friend is a priv Running a business with your best friend is a privilege, here’s the small things we do to make it work:

1. We are mindful of each other’s time. No last-minute asks, no assuming the other person is free just because we are. It sounds small, but it’s one of the kindest things we do for each other.

2. We built Hey Lemonade because we believe in rest, so we try to actually live that too. We don’t wear tired like it’s something to be proud of.

3. We don’t leave anything unsaid. We made a commitment to talk through every challenge, niggling worry or small resentment. No tip toeing around a feeling. We make sure we are open and honest as early as possible, so small, entirely human, conflicts don’t turn into actual problems.

4. Some weeks we’re on opposite sides of the world. Some weeks one of us is on a film set, or on stage and the other is holding things down. So we’ve learned to hold the business flexibly enough to bend around real life, because that’s what real life keeps asking of us.

We have become better friends as we have grown together.

What’s something you wish someone had told you about working with a friend? We’d love to hear it.

thanks to the discovery by Dr James Gross from Stanford University.

When designing our Hey Lemonade app, we wanted a way for people to describe how they were feeling, turns out, by doing just that, you're half way there!

So next time you have a big feeling, try labelling it.
